[Flayn is not terribly aware of her surroundings.

Which, perhaps, is not a very good thing to be when you're walking up into the mountains - but it also means, because she doesn't immediately realize that Dazai is there, that she isn't bothering to reign herself in, either. There are tears in her eyes that she actually lets fall as she follows the path at a hurried pace.

What's up, Dazai!]

—oh!

[Well, that's unexpected. Flayn nearly jumps right out of her skin, blinking tears from her eyes as she whirls around to face him. It's still obvious that she's been crying, though; she's not terribly good at covering up her tracks.]

Oh, no, I did not... really have any plans. I... thought it might be helpful to take a walk.

[She stares at his hand for a moment, but then reaches out - a little hesitantly - to take it.]

...perhaps not the zipline. But a walk would be nice, if you truly would not mind.

...is that something you would do?

[???

No drinks here, though. So it's probably fine. Flayn bites her lip and shakes her head, just once.]

I am not sure that I am not feeling up to it, so much as... I am not sure what to say. This is... today is...

...where did you sleep? The kitchen?

[???

...her expression falls at that observation, though.]

It has not been a good week for anyone. Dimitri meant a lot to many of us... we all keenly feel his loss.

[No idea where Dazai is but after the trial, Flayn can be found sitting at one of the benches by the bonfire, staring into the flames.

Her eyes are red and her cheeks are pale, but like, that's not news? She's been crying a lot since yesterday.]

[She rubs at her eyes as he sits down.]

Dazai... I... [...] How did it go so wrong? There was not a shred of evidence to link Ookurikara to what happened, so why...?

Aggression is not something anyone should die for!

...not when there were people who would have chosen to do it. Not when...

[Gods, why couldn't she convince anyone to let her volunteer?]

stop it, dw!!!

I do not understand why it had to end this way.

[...]

I do not understand at all.

[Flayn sighs, but doesn't flinch away from the hand on her shoulder.]

Do you have any suspects, Dazai?

...is that so...

[Well, she doesn't seem mad about him having suspected her, at least? She doesn't really seem much of anything, other than, you know, sad.]

[what does the bathroom have to do with dumping drinks on people, she wonders.]

...I had hoped - with the progress we made... [they'd managed to combine two of the teams into one...] ...I had hoped so badly that there would be no need for anyone else to die.

...no matter who you ask, whether the answer is truthful or not, I fear it will sound the same.

[Confession rules, and all. Anyone can say "I didn't do it" - but someone among them has to.]
